Watching the fireworks from the kitchen window. This was the first New Year's Eve, that Lumi managed to stay awake until midnight. Her sister slept through the whole thing without a peep – I am very envious of this ability. Feels like a super power.

This is the start of a yearlong quest to post an image every day and, as this is post 1 of 366, I thought an introduction might be in order: My name is Florian, dad of two, husband to one. We live in Essen, Germany. Photography is my main creative outlet. I have a camera with me all the time and wherever I go. I work as a web designer and developer at Haptiq, a small agency which I co-founded with my friend Claudio.
