Two posts in one day?! Well, I just felt like sharing the issues that I ran into with my 27mm pancake lens. You see, it has been acting up recently. When I turn on the camera, with that particular lens attached, I get a "Turn camera off and on again" warning. It happened sporadically over the last couple of weeks, but unfortunately it is now rendered completely unusable. It seems the motor is stuck…? At least that's what it sounds like, when I turn on the camera. I decided to send it to Fujifilm repair services to get it looked at. Hence a visit to the very empty office on a Saturday to print the required form to send along with the lens. Bummer, just when I finally got somewhat accustomed to the 40mm equivalent…

which Fujifilm camera do you use? I really like 40mm, I've got a 40mm/f1.8 for my analog camera and a 28mm/f3.5 vintage lens on my Fujifilm X-Pro1. Would love to get a modern 27mm lens as well but it's too expensive for me at the moment :D

I use an X-T5. For a very long time I struggled with 27mm (40), because I am used to either 35 or 50. With the 40 I was always in the wrong spot (either too close or too far away). Since using it more and more over the last months I got used to it. Got it in a bundle with the X-E4 (which I sold to get the T5). Love it for everyday use, bc it is so small. If size is not an issue, you should checkout the Viltrox 1.2. Image quality is amazing!

very nice looking lens! I’d like to get something smaller tho, especially for street i want to have a decent pancake but I guess that’s way too expensive anyway :D
