We visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi yesterday. I have been here before, nine years ago. What an utterly different experience it was! Back then, there was no registration, no visitor center (with StarBucks and McDonald's, basically a full-fledged mall below the mosque!), and no people. Well, at least not that many! It's Ramadan, so a lot of visitors are expected, but the sheer amount of tourists really shocked me. That being said: This place is still amazing and worth a visit, even with that many people around.
The guy in the last picture asked me to take his photo, because I had a proper camera. He is from Pakistan and his friend Sajawl (you can see him on the left, grinning) gave me his WhatsApp contact, so I can send them the images.
